Due to the influence of Harlaxton College, more than 80% of Evansville University students will study abroad, go to Harlaxton College or participate in nearly 200 overseas study programs. The University of Evansville's drama department is a well-known department in the United States, and its alumni often play leading roles in TV and movies. The University of Evansville is also the birthplace of The Formalist and its follow-up journal Measure, and has a leading position in the field of neo-formalist poetry. The University Press of Evansville publishes official poetry books, anthologies, including the annual Richard Wilbur Prize winners. The University of Evansville is also quite famous for its School of Engineering and Nursing/Pre-Medical programs.
